We don't replace the ones you've lost.
We keep the way they spoke.
Afterheart begins with a simple belief: the way a person speaks — their stories, their pauses, the words only they would use — deserves to be kept with the same care as their photographs. A photo album holds a face. Nothing, until now, has held a voice in conversation.
So we build a memory of voice together with people, while they are alive and choose to tell their story. Later, the people who remain can hear that way of speaking again — ask a question, find a tone, sit with a story once more. Always knowing, clearly and at every moment, that they are talking with an AI.
This is not immortality, and we will never call it that. It is closer to a lighthouse than a resurrection: a kept light, made from what someone freely chose to leave burning.
Three gestures, at your own pace.
Tell
You record your stories — alone, or with the people you love. How you met. The recipe you never wrote down. The advice you always give. The way you say things.
Preserve
The AI learns your cadence, your vocabulary, your warmth — from your recordings and nothing else. What you never said, it will never claim to know.
Return
One day, the people who remain can sit down with that memory and talk. When they want to, if they want to — never pushed, never scheduled. Not a replacement: a way back to a voice.
A GRANDMOTHER'S VOICE,
BUILT FROM 47 RECORDINGS.
Warmth, without pretending.
An Afterheart memory speaks with the warmth of the person who recorded it — but it never pretends to know what it was never told. If a story isn't there, it says so, gently. That honesty is not a limitation. It is the very thing that makes the encounter possible.
Every conversation clearly discloses that it is an AI, keeps to session lengths designed with grief psychologists, and closes with care. Listening again does you good precisely when it remains a free gesture — not a habit you fall into.
Built to keep, not to hold on.
Encrypted, and yours
Your recordings live in your encrypted archive. They are never used to train external models, never shared, never sold. You can delete everything, at any time, and it stays deleted.
Designed with people who care
Every product decision is co-designed with grief psychologists: a gradual onboarding, gentle session limits, and a closing ritual — so that every conversation ends well, and can end for good.
Always, openly, AI
At every moment it is clear you are speaking with an AI. That's the law — and, long before the law, our choice. And everything starts from one place only: the consent of a person telling their story in life.
Afterheart does not replace people — not the ones who are gone, and not the ones beside you now. And if your grief feels like a weight that will not move, the right place is not an app. It is a professional. If you want, we will help you find one.
Asked, and answered plainly.
Who can create a memory?
What does a memory actually know?
Will I always know I'm talking to an AI?
Is talking to a memory good for me?
Can everything be deleted?
When we're ready,
we'll tell you gently.
Afterheart is in its listening phase: we are working with grief psychologists and legal experts before opening any doors. Leave your email and you will receive one letter — when it truly matters.
Thank you. We'll write to you, gently.
