Afterheart begins with a simple belief: the way a person speaks — their stories, their pauses, the words only they would use — deserves to be kept with the same care as their photographs. A photo album holds a face. Nothing, until now, has held a voice in conversation.

So we build a memory of voice together with people, while they are alive and choose to tell their story. Later, the people who remain can hear that way of speaking again — ask a question, find a tone, sit with a story once more. Always knowing, clearly and at every moment, that they are talking with an AI.

This is not immortality, and we will never call it that. It is closer to a lighthouse than a resurrection: a kept light, made from what someone freely chose to leave burning.

Who can create a memory?
Only you, about yourself, while you are alive — freely and knowingly. Afterheart is consent-first: no one can build a memory of another person. What you record is a gift you choose to leave, not something taken from you afterwards.
What does a memory actually know?
Exactly what it was told — your recordings, and nothing beyond them. If someone asks about a story you never recorded, the memory says so, warmly and clearly. Nothing is ever invented.
Will I always know I'm talking to an AI?
Yes — always, in every conversation, without exception. The disclosure is persistent by design and by law. A memory of a voice can be a comfort precisely because it never pretends to be the person.
Is talking to a memory good for me?
For many people, revisiting a loved voice can be a gentle comfort — like rereading old letters. But grief is not one thing. That is why sessions have limits designed with grief psychologists, why the experience never prompts or pushes, and why we will always be honest: if grief feels heavy, the right support is a professional, and we'll help you find one.
Can everything be deleted?
Yes. The archive belongs to the person who recorded it, under the terms they chose. Deletion is complete and permanent — keeping a light is a choice, every day, never a trap.
